Chillicothe UMC needed to update from a web site that functioned as a brochure for guests to a site that was useful for guest and members of the church. At the start of the project there were three goals that needed to be achieved. First the site needed to be easy to maintain and keep current. Second the church needed an updated, modern design. Finally, the site should contain enough information to reduce newsletter printing and mailing costs.
To keep information current the staff of the church maintain events in their existing church database. These events, and the calendar, are displayed on the web site. Chillicothe UMC uses Elvanto as their church database and the web site was built to take advantage of it’s built-in event management system. For news and updates that aren’t associated with events staff can post to the updates section of the site.
Kaio provided a training day prior to the launch of the site. This training gave the staff confidence they would be able to maintain and manage the site moving forward.
